Handstands and Acrobatics Seminar Coming to Trail, BC
This seminar features two half-days of training with a limited group size to ensure a personal experience. The description below is a general outline of what will be covered, but classes will be adapted to the levels and requests of the students.
Both days are open level, so there is no skill prerequisite to take the classes.

Saturday, 1:00-4:00
Handstands
The handstand is a fun skill to learn and accessible to anyone with the right process and technique. It’s also a great workout, helps develop your mind/body connection, and serves as a fantastic way to condition and cross-train for many sports. This session will focus on developing the fundamental building blocks, and then working up to some more advanced skills.
Topics Include:
-Warmup and Physical Preparation
-Alignment and Structure
-Overcoming Fear and Psychological Restrictions
-Wall Handstand Progressions
-Refining Entries to Handstand
-Progressions for Freestanding Handstand Balance
-Advanced movements such as Press Handstand, Handstand Pushups, Handstand Walks, etc.

Acrobatics and Movement
Acrobatics training is a super fun way to learn to move your body. There is carryover to many athletic pursuits and the practice can also help to prevent injury by building specific reflexes and control. Plus, you can learn some impressive party tricks!
This session will focus on fundamental movement concepts that serve as building blocks towards advanced skills, then we will practice some different movements and combinations.
This is not meant to be one specific style of acrobatics, but rather the class borrows from many different disciplines including gymnastics, capoeira, martial arts tricking, parkour, and dance.
