Beginner Level
No prerequisites, all levels are welcome.
Learn how to safely and confidently approach handstand training so that you can make progress and reach your goals. This class is great for instructors also to learn different teaching methods.
Topics covered:
Physical Preparation for the Shoulders and Wrists
Understanding Structure, alignment, and arm support
How to safely bail out of a handstand
Developing Inversion Awareness and comfort
Understanding the difference between physical, psychological, and technical limitations
How to use and get away from the wall
How to Balance the Handstand
April 20, 2:00-4:00
Intermediate/Advanced
No hard prereqs, but recommended for students to be comfortable in a freestanding handstand.
This class will focus on refining technique as well as preparing for learning advanced skills.
Topics Covered:
Refining Basic balance and Alignment
Developing Consistency with Handstand Entries
Shape Changes and Movement in Handstand
Partner Spotting Techniques
Advanced Skill work for presses, handstand pushups, one arm handstands(upon students’ request)
The descriptions are only a basic guideline, but the teaching style will be open to anything students wish to learn.
Class size will be limited to ensure a personal experience and lots of personal feedback.
Cost:
Single Class; $50 before April 6, $60 after 4/6
Both Classes; $90 before April 6, $110 after 4/6
